LSBIM ACTIVITY [20] — 21 May 2023

Program of "Johor Digital Literacy Day" 

Johor Bahru, 21 May 2023- In conjunction with the opening ceremony of Johor Digital Literacy Day which was completed by the Entrepreneur, Tuan Noorman bin Kamsani, Deputy Secretary General and Chairman of the National Consumer Action Council (MTPN) of the State of Johor, the Malaysian Industry Talent Resource Board (LSBIM) would like to congratulate and thank the participants, parents, and guests of honor who took the time to attend the event.

The opening ceremony which was held at Wisma PERKESO, Johor Bahru went quite well and was lively with the presence of invited guests such as MTPN Committee members, LSBIM Committee members, A.I.T.I members and M.E.I members. In addition, a total of 11 students from secondary and tertiary levels participated in the Johor Digital Literacy final competition organized by the International Certification of Digital Literacy (ICDL) Asia in collaboration with D.E.W Technology Sdn. Bhd. in order to increase awareness and digital talent in the use of international standard technology.

Dr. CM Kong in his speech said "The young generation is a student who easily accepts change and is more open. Mastery in the digital field is based on the needs of students because they prefer new and fresh things." Tuan Noorman bin Kamsani also agreed where in his speech he stated "Because students are human capital and national assets, early encouragement for them to learn these skills is very important."

The event's agenda was also filled with an opening speech and ICDL-related sharing from Mr. Nigel Ngiam Kee Kiat, Marketing Development Manager, ICDL Asia. In addition, SOCSO, which is also the main sponsor for this opening ceremony, represented by Miss Norhaniza binti Kersani, had the opportunity to give some information and talk about SOCSO schemes such as the Self-Employed Social Security Scheme (SKSPS) and the Housewives Social Security Scheme ( SKSSR). Not only that, the attendees were also presented with a presentation from Mr. Desmond Lee Yong Meng representing Asia Information Technology Certified Institute (A.I.T.I) and Mr. Calvin Wan Wai Keat representing Meta Entrepreneur International (M.E.I).

At the end of the ceremony, the presentation of prizes such as trophies, certificates and cash was held to appreciate the hard work of the participants. The presentation of souvenirs and awards was also held to honor the speakers and guests of honor present.

Not to be forgotten to the chairman of the council and council secretary, Mrs. Shafiennawanie, Mrs. Ginnie Liaw, Mrs. Angel, Ms. Dhivyatharshini and others who also worked tirelessly in making the inauguration of Johor Digital Literacy Day a success this time.

Hopefully this program can become an annual regular program to achieve the country's goal of moving towards Industrial Revolution 4.0.
