JOHOR BAHRU, 24-25 JUNE 2023 - The Junior Cup Badminton Tournament held at the Just In Sport Centre, Johor Jaya yesterday.

Several categories contested under the Junior Cup including the mixed singles, women's singles, men's singles and men's doubles categories have received a warm welcome from badminton players consisting of primary and secondary school students around the Johor Bahru area. The program director, Tuan Justin Lee Long Yeh, who is also the Head of the South Malaysia Division, LSBIM Youth & Sports Division, was proud of the enthusiasm of the badminton participants who attended and said that this competition indirectly opened up opportunities for more talents to be born and most likely to be able to become a good defender for the national team.

The prize giving and opening ceremony was completed by YBhg. Dr. CM Kong, the National President of LSBIM and he congratulated the main organizers and all the teaching staff for successfully holding this energetic badminton tournament. Hopefully this kind of competition can be used as an annual activity to create more tournaments at the community level in the hope of unearthing more new talent for the national squad. This is because Malaysia is one of the world's badminton giants since the time of Datuk Misbun Sidek, Sidek's children, Datuk Lee Chong Wei and now Lee Zii Jia.

Also present, Mrs. Ginnie Liaw, Honorary Treasurer of LSBIM and Mr. Tee Yen Chong, Supreme Board Member of LSBIM, to enliven the Just In Badminton Championship Cup Competition for the year 2023.
