Courtesy Visit to MATRADE Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur, 17 January 2024 - LSBIM paid a courtesy visit to Matrade Office in Kuala Lumpur to improve the understanding of board members regarding the services provided by Matrade Malaysia. The visit to the Matrade Office was welcomed by Mrs. Norbilah Hussein @ Che Awang, Senior Manager, Services Development Unit, Mrs. Ng Mei Mei, Manager of the Market Development Unit, and Mrs. Sarah Johana Yusof, Manager of the Exporter Advisory Service Unit. Matrade is a foreign trade agency of the Malaysian government. Its main role is to help Malaysian exporters develop and expand their export markets. Matrade has 6 offices in Malaysia and 49 overseas offices in 38 countries.
Throughout the information sessions presented, there were various inputs received especially in the Grant aspect. Like Matrade Malaysia provides various grant programs to help companies increase their export capacity. It aims to assist companies in product development, marketing, and increasing their export capabilities. In addition, this Grant is also intended for Malaysian companies involved in International Trade fairs such as Matrade to provide financial support for companies that wish to participate in International trade fairs. These grants can help with participation costs, exhibition expenses, and other promotional activities that help companies gain recognition and attract overseas customers. In terms of trade, Matrade is a Malaysian government agency responsible for promoting exports and expanding overseas markets for local companies. They provide support in the development of export marketing strategies, and international trade relations. Matrade also plays a role in managing the participation of Malaysian companies in global trade fairs and facilitating trade relations with various countries.
Matrade Malaysia helps companies in Malaysia for foreign trade in various aspects of foreign trade including such as Trade Fairs. It facilitates companies' participation in international trade fairs to promote their products and services and establish business relationships with overseas buyers. Additionally, Trade Negotiations. It provides support in trade negotiations between Malaysian companies and overseas partners.
LSBIM representative, Dr. CM Kong,Β National President and Mr William Siow, Head of the Service Sector Division, Grants & Loans Sector explained the profile of the organization and the activities carried out by LSBIM to help the community. This visit has also reached an agreement for both parties to work more closely for all future events and programs and also LSBIM will work with Matrade to help companies in Malaysia who want to expand their international trade businesses.
