Courtesy Visit to SME Corporation (SMECorp)

Kuala Lumpur, 9 August 2023 - LSBIM paid a courtesy visit to SME Corporation Sdn Bhd to improve board members' understanding of services and programs provided by SME Corporation Malaysia. Throughout the presentation session delivered by Tuan Czarif Chai, Senior Director, SME Corp Program Coordination Division., he explained that there are 9 programs that will be implemented in 2023 by SMECorp namely Business Accelerator Program (BAP), Bumiputera Enterprise Enhancement Program (BEEP), Bumiputera Export Promotion (GEB), SMEs to Global, Bumiputera Youth Buddies (TUBE), PRESTIGE, BizMe-Micro Connector, Inclusive SME Ecosystem (I-SEE ), and PMKS Week.

2023 Government Subsidy Sharing Session

JOHOR BAHRU, 14 JULY 2023 - The Malaysian Industrial Talent Resource Board represented by Tuan William Siow, Head of Service Sector Division, Grants and Loans Division, was the guest of honor at the JCI Johor Bahru mid-year gathering. JCI Johor Bahru's 80-90's themed mid-year meeting went smoothly and was full of fun.

Not only that, the representative of LSBIM, Tuan William Siow also had the opportunity to share information regarding government grants and loans 2023, which enlightened entrepreneurs to some extent on how these subsidies can help their businesses to change and grow.

LSBIM would like to express its gratitude to JCI Johor Bahru for inviting LSBIM representatives to share a little about government grants and loans. Hopefully this partnership will benefit JCI members as well as the general public. Good luck.

Badminton Sport | Just In Badminton Cup 2023

JOHOR BAHRU, 24-25 JUNE 2023 - The Junior Cup Badminton Tournament held at the Just In Sport Centre, Johor Jaya yesterday.

Several categories contested under the Junior Cup including the mixed singles, women's singles, men's singles and men's doubles categories have received a warm welcome from badminton players consisting of primary and secondary school students around the Johor Bahru area. The program director, Tuan Justin Lee Long Yeh, who is also the Head of the South Malaysia Division, LSBIM Youth & Sports Division, was proud of the enthusiasm of the badminton participants who attended and said that this competition indirectly opened up opportunities for more talents to be born and most likely to be able to become a good defender for the national team.

Courtesy Visit to Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC)

Cyberjaya, 29 May 2023 - LSBIM paid a courtesy visit to Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) to give exposure to its board members related to the grants that can help small and medium businesses (SMEs) and programs run by MDEC.

Furthermore, this courtesy visit has resulted in an agreement to cooperate between LSBIM and MDEC in digitization programs and related programs.

This courtesy visit was welcomed by Mr. Sudhesh Suppiah, head of the Client Contact Center (CliC). Hopefully this courtesy visit can benefit both parties in offering digital services and products that help improve digital skills among Malaysians.

Program of "Johor Digital Literacy Day"

Johor Bahru, 21 May 2023- In conjunction with the opening ceremony of Johor Digital Literacy Day which was completed by the Entrepreneur, Tuan Noorman bin Kamsani, Deputy Secretary General and Chairman of the National Consumer Action Council (MTPN) of the State of Johor, the Malaysian Industry Talent Resource Board (LSBIM) would like to congratulate and thank the participants, parents, and guests of honor who took the time to attend the event.

The opening ceremony which was held at Wisma PERKESO, Johor Bahru went quite well and was lively with the presence of invited guests such as MTPN Committee members, LSBIM Committee members, A.I.T.I members and M.E.I members. In addition, a total of 11 students from secondary and tertiary levels participated in the Johor Digital Literacy final competition organized by the International Certification of Digital Literacy (ICDL) Asia in collaboration with D.E.W Technology Sdn. Bhd. in order to increase awareness and digital talent in the use of international standard technology.

The Program of “Protection of Employer’s Right, Legalities, and Implications”

Johor Bahru, 28 April 2023- The Malaysian Industrial Talent Board through its Education Division, Internal Executive Exco has implemented the "Protection of Employer's Right, Legalities, and Implications" program to provide exposure to employers and employees related to the amendment of the 1955 Employment Act. The knowledge sharing program was held at KSL Resort Hotel on April 28, 2023 (Friday) and received a favorable response from employers and employees throughout Malaysia.

This program was led by Human Resource Consultant, Mr Sean Lee from InTalent Consulting Sdn. Bhd., as the speaker for this seminar related to the Employment Act (Amendment) 1955. He has extensive experience in the field of human resources. According to Mr Sean Lee, this program needs to be held to give exposure and knowledge to employers and employees about human resource management that involves the Employment Act (Amendment) of 1955 ....

Courtesy Visit to Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC)

Kuala Lumpur, 10 April 2023 - LSBIM made a courtesy visit to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to give exposure to board members about knowledge of corruption crimes in Malaysia through the "Anti-corruption Briefing & Dialogue with the Malaysian Industry Talent Board".

In addition, this courtesy visit aims to obtain a full partnership related to anti-corruption regarding talent sources, human trafficking, arrest process as well as investigation proceedings conducted by the MACC. The LSBIM was also given the opportunity to visit the interview room, lock-up room and cam parade room for corruption crime cases at MACC .....

Putrajaya, 4 April 2023 - LSBIM made a courtesy Visit to the Ministry of Human Resources held at the Office of the Deputy Minister of Human Resource, Parliamentary and Administration Block, Parliament of Malaysia.

Dr. CM Kong representing the Malaysian Industrial Talent Board (LSBIM) together with representatives from the National Consumer Action Council (MTPN) paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Human Resources to highlight current issues related to consumers and human resources.

Courtesy Visit to Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA)

Johor Bahru, 20 March 2023 - LBSIM made a courtesy visit to Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) to discuss on the services and grants provided by IRDA such as IMEG 3.0.

IRDA has a vision to become a strong and sustainable metropolis of international standard, also highlighting the function of facilitating international investors to invest in Malaysia, especially Johor. The Deputy President of IRDA emphasized that the most encouraged investments are investments that can produce value or jobs for local citizens.

This courtesy visit was welcomed by YBrs. Tuan Prakash Nagarajan, Deputy President of IRDA with YBrs. Tuan Muhammad Mazby Ghazali, representative from IRDA. This Honorable Visit also resulted in an agreement to cooperate in the program run by LSBIM to increase knowledge and awareness in the field of human resources.

1st Executive Management Empowerment Special Committee Meeting

KUALA LUMPUR, 14 MARCH 2023 – The Malaysia Industrial Talent Board (LSBIM) has held the 1st Executive Management Empowerment Special Committee Meeting held at the Swiss Garden Hotel, Jalan Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur. LSBIM National President, YBhg Dr. CM Kong, in his speech, congratulated and thanked the lineup of members present at this meeting.

Dr. CM Kong expressed his gratitude that LSBIM had successfully implemented various activities and programs throughout the beginning of 2022 until now such as holding courtesy visits to several Malaysian and foreign government bodies, the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with companies in Malaysia, software development programs, educational programs and others and able to hold meetings of the highest board members every quarter.

Courtesy Visit to Immigration Department

Putrajaya, 14 February 2023 - LSBIM paid a courtesy visit to Immigration Department, Enforcement Division to increase the board members' understanding of services involved such as Rehiring 2.0. In addition, this courtesy visit aims to observe the work of the enforcement division in the Immigration Department in carrying out operations and arrests, conducting investigations, carrying out prosecutions, collecting compounds and deportation/repatriation of detainees.

Seminar on Employment (Amendment) Act 2022

Kuala Lumpur, 13 Feb 2023A 1-day seminar organized by the Education Department, Lembaga Sumber Bakat Industri Malaysia, was held on Monday, 13th February 2023 at Swiss Garden Hotel, Bukit Bintang. This seminar aims to promote an in-depth knowledge regards to the Employment Amendments Act 2022 among employers and HR practitioners.

The Employment Amendments Act 2022 is scheduled to be enforced on 1 January 2023. The 2022 amendment includes various revisions including new introductions that will affect employers such as flexible work arrangements, forced labour provisions and paternity leave. The amendment will also see an enhancement in maternity allowance and a reduction of work hours and an expansion of the scope of overtime entitlement and enhancement of hospitalisation leave. The penalty for offences is increased as well.

Courtesy Visit by Representative Council of Jilin Province, Government of China

Kuala Lumpur, 10 January 2023A courtesy visit with the Jilin Regional Representative Council, Government of China which aims to introduce the objectives of the Malaysian Industrial Talent Board to the Jilin Regional Representative Council as well as improve understanding of the economic and trade mission of the Jilin region, China to LSBIM Members.

This visit is also to discuss the point of meeting between LSBIM and the Jilin Provincial Representative Council, the Chinese Government to cooperate in improving the welfare of the people and the economy between the two countries. At the end of the discussion, LSBIM and the Jilin Provincial Representative Council agreed to allow Malaysians to conduct business and trade and obtain relevant resources easily in China ...

Visit to Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDNM)

Cyberjaya, 03 January 2023 - LSBIM made a courtesy visit to the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRB) to improve the board members' understanding of the services provided by IRB in greater depth such as the e-SMUP and EduZone systems. Not only that, this courtesy visit aims to highlight LSBIM's initiatives in strengthening the elements of general education in Malaysia.

This courtesy visit was welcomed by Yang Berbahagia Puan Masita Samad, Assistant Director of the Profiling Division together with representatives of the IRB Education Division which was held at the IRB Headquarters, Menara Hasil. Hopefully LSBIM and LHDNM can work together in any activities and programs for the present and the future.
